Staying Safe This Holiday Season
The holidays are a special time of year: everyone is happy, and gratitude is plentiful. But despite the numerous positive associations, it’s still prudent to be cautious during this festive season. Accidents can happen at any time of year.
As such, it’s a well-advised decision to ensure you’re up to snuff on the latest precautions regarding fire extinguisher safety. And that’s why we invite you to stay safe during the holidays by looking into AIP Safety’s…
Fire Extinguisher Course
This course was created to exceed the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Completing this course will provide you with the knowledge and safety measures that must be taken to ensure a safe holiday season in both the workplace and at home.
Proper use of a fire extinguisher can prevent damage to company (or home) property and save lives! Firefighting training for fire extinguishers is designed for small-scale fires that are still controllable (typically, fires that are still confined to a small section of a room or space).
This class is located in Calgary and is split into two portions. The first is in a class with demonstrations to ensure you understand fire and fire safety tactics. And the second is done outside, where you’ll be battling actual fires in real time.
The main ideas the course aims to impart you with are:
- How to identify the different types of fire
- The basics of fire chemistry (the components of fire, its characteristics, and phases)
- The categories of fire
- What type of fire extinguisher is appropriate for each circumstance
- The correct tactics for fighting fires
- How to use a fire extinguisher correctly
- How to properly inspect a fire extinguisher and more
The last thing on your mind during the holidays is a potential safety hazard. But by being aware, you can rest easy knowing that if anything transpired, you could handle it.
