Our next employee feature is finally here!
Meet Joshua Becker.
Josh has been a contract instructor and course developer with AIP since 2009. He brings a great deal of safety training and first-hand experience to our team because when Josh isn't in the classrooms here, he is a full-time Calgary Firefighter. As a firefighter for over 15 years, he has specialized experience in high angle rescue, search and rescue training development and handling hazardous materials.
When asked why Josh chose AIP Safety Ltd. he replied "I was interested in the proactive approach to worker safety. AIP provides a great learning environment and is always willing to assist in furthering their employee's knowledge about health and safety."
If you have taken one of our safety courses, then you likely have Josh to thank for your training. Josh has many roles here at AIP Safety. He is often involved in developing our courses. He completes the necessary research to make sure that each of our courses covers all of the topics needed and are easy for students to understand and relate to real-world situations. He also is an instructor in our Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Fentanyl Awareness, Incident Investigation, Fork Lift Training, SCBA Awareness, Elevated Work Platform, and Rescue Training courses. And, finally, he also looks after our standby services. Standby services provide qualified and experienced rescue personnel to worksites in and around the City of Calgary. This is a great opportunity to see various industries and interact with them to provide the safest working environment possible.
When Josh isn't busy saving lives and training people, he is taking courses to complete his Occupational Health and Safety certificate and progressing to a Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) designation.
